Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using Sound Safari, you agree to these terms of service. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use the app.
Description of Service
Sound Safari is a practice management tool for speech-language pathologists and caregivers. It assists with:
- Speech sound practice across multiple levels and game modes
- Session tracking and scoring
- Progress monitoring and reporting
- Clinical documentation (SOAP notes)
- IEP goal tracking
- Articulation screening
- Homework sharing with parents and caregivers
Not Medical Advice
Sound Safari is a clinical tool, not a medical device. It does not provide diagnoses, medical advice, or treatment recommendations. Clinical decisions should always be made by qualified professionals. The app's screening results, error pattern analysis, and smart recommendations are informational tools, not diagnostic conclusions.
User Responsibilities
Users are responsible for:
- Accuracy of entered data
- Compliance with applicable regulations (HIPAA, FERPA, state licensing requirements)
- Maintaining device security (passcodes, encryption, biometric locks)
- Obtaining necessary consents before entering student data
- Ensuring appropriate use of the app within their professional scope of practice
- Regular backup of data using the export feature
Accounts and Subscriptions
Sound Safari offers paid subscription tiers. Paid subscriptions are managed through Apple's App Store and are subject to Apple's terms:
- Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase
- You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your device's Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions
Intellectual Property
All content, features, functionality, design, and code of Sound Safari are owned by Sound Safari and protected by intellectual property laws. Users retain full ownership of all data they enter into the app, including student profiles, session records, notes, and custom templates.
User-Generated Content
Users may create custom word lists, SOAP note templates, IEP goal templates, and session notes within the app. Users retain ownership of this content. We do not access, review, or use user-generated content in any way.
Limitation of Liability
Sound Safari is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We are not liable for:
- Data loss (users should maintain their own backups)
- Clinical outcomes resulting from use of the app
- Regulatory compliance (HIPAA, FERPA, or other requirements)
- Interruptions to service or iCloud sync
- Accuracy of developmental norms or screening recommendations
In no event shall Sound Safari's total liability exceed the amount paid by the user in the 12 months preceding the claim.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app
- Use the app for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the app
- Redistribute, sublicense, or resell the app or its content
- Remove any copyright or proprietary notices
Termination
We may terminate or restrict access to Sound Safari for violations of these terms. Users can stop using the app at any time and export their data before doing so. Upon termination, your right to use the app ceases immediately, but you retain ownership of any data you have exported.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of Sound Safari shall be resolved in accordance with applicable law.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms with app updates. Changes will be reflected in the app and on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of Sound Safari after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
